Fashion

Gone but not forgotten.  Donyale Luna is said to be the first Black woman to grace the cover of British Vogue.  Gazing at her photos, I can definitely see why.  She was breathtakingly gorgeous and had the longest most elegant limbs imaginable.

Silk Robes *swoon*

Know what I absolutely adore?

Why silk robes, of course!!

They feel fabulous against your skin – so much so that I absolutely refuse to go to bed without silk or satin sheets, which is a whole ‘nother post!

Every so often I shop for new ones to add to my collection. Here are a few I fancy:

Not entirely silk, but I felt it deserved an honorable mention.   Meow!

Hellooooooooooooooo Gorgeous.

Any of these beauts are welcome in my closet anytime ;]

Oh, lest I forget.  I missed out on this beauty a few seasons back *sheds a tear*

Design Rules

Posted by admin | Uncategorized | Saturday 6 February 2010 1:25 pm

I am looking forward to redesigning my personal space.

This book has caught my eye and I’ll be purchasing it shortly.  Why?

(Other than the fact that we have identical color schemes??  A woman after my own heart *swoon*)

Upon reading the author’s (Elaine Griffin) interview on the web I was smitten not only by her words, but also by her approach to interior design.  I plan on making a few bold moves in the next few weeks and felt this would be the perfect tool to have at my fingertips — why not seek expert advice?

I’m thinking of tracking my adventures in mod/classic decor…we’ll see.

Here is a  blurb which can be found on Elaine’s website:

Design Rules is filled with all the timeless decorating rules, measurements, proportions and visual truths that design professionals use with every project. They’re the style secrets and trade tricks that make rooms look professionally designed and ready to be snapped for the pages of a magazine, and can transform any space into sheer gorgeousness.

With stylish, helpful illustrations and chockfull of tips galore, Design Rules is the don’t-decorate-without-it bible for any home, anywhere, no matter what the style or budget. From living rooms to kitchens, baths and basements; from color to flooring to lighting; and all the design elements in between, Design Rules gives you practical, straightforward, useful advice.

I’ll be doing a book review momentarily.  I can’t wait to read this!
